River Bank Run

First of all, I must confess that this blog entry is way overdue. This post should have been entered weeks ago, but I will say this - I tried. I wrote an entry and then it got lost in cyber space. It's too bad too, because it was funny.

Anyway, the race. Personally, I had a good race. It was the first time I ran the entire 15.5 miles. Previous years I had to walk because of a variety of reasons. My first year - I was a wimp, and I fell apart mentally around mile 13 and decided to walk. My second year - I didn't train like I should have. My third year - I got cramps in my legs. But this year - I ran the whole way!!! I even kept running when a woman with one leg passed me. She passed me around mile 4 and was gone, but she had an advantage. She had a little spring in her fake leg that was helping her out.

However, that didn't get me down. I kept pounding the pavement and ended up with a finishing time of 2 hours, 18 minutes. Not bad. I would have liked to be around 2 Hours 5 minutes, but there's always next year.

Anyway, that's it for now. More posts to come soon. I promise - even though there are only 2-3 people who actually read this blog.

Peace out
Dave

Great job on the race Dave! I feel your pain about having the lady with one leg pass you running -- I had a guy kicking my butt on that 62 mile bike ride with one arm. No fake arm either, steering his bike down the 30 mph downhill with one arm and I'm freaking out. haha.

Nice job! I think you're really a Coloradoan at heart!
