Family Day...

Three days ago a friend of mine offered me a ticket to the Detroit Tigers vs New York Yankees playoff game. It was game four of the series, which was definitely going to be played since the Tigers won on Thursday. I thought long and hard about accepting my friends invitation to the game, but eventually came to the conclusion that I should decline his invitation.

Why? Because life has been very hectic for my family. Ceci has been working a lot. Elliana has been busy with school. (Whoever thought pre-school would take up so much of your time.) Overall, life has just gotten of control and we needed some time together as a family. So, I told my friend I couldn't go, and instead had a family day.

What did we do on our family day? We went to "Cranes Apple Orchard." It was a beautiful fall day - 70 degrees and sunny, and we were off to pick some apples and do "fall stuff" as a family. We got to Cranes and decided to have lunch. We sat down for lunch, and as we were waiting for our food, I realized my family day wasn't going so well. Both girls were cranking, and Ceci had checked out of the conversation because she was tired and hungry. So there I sat enjoying my family day.

It got better - As lunch was coming to a close our waitress asked us if there was anything else we needed. My reply was "Yes, can you tell me where we go to pick apples?" She looked directly into my eyes and responded; "Have a nice day?" Wait, what about my question? Where do we go to pick apples?

After asking around a little bit, we finally found where we needed to go to pick apples. We picked about 10 apples and then headed home to take a nap and wash the van.

By the way the Tigers won 8-3 thus clinching the series. I got a call from my friend at the Tigers game. He said it was awesome. Maybe I should have went to the game?
