Great Weekend

This past weekend I went to Camp Michindoh (the camp's name comes from the names of the states in the area - Michigan, Indiana, Ohio. Whoever came up with that name was so clever!) for a retreat called cloud 9. "Cloud 9" is a retreat for the Vineyard churches in the states of Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and West Virginia, and this weekend there were over 600 teenagers who got together for this retreat.

The purpose of this weekend was quite simple - give teenagers an environment where they can passionately worship God, and challenge them to live for God every day of their lives. Personally, I was blown away as I watched over 600 teenagers worshipping God with their hands raised as they danced and declared their love for God. It was an awesome sight, which challenged me in my relationship with God. How passionate am I when it comes to my relationship with God? How open am I to God moving in my life?

As I reflect on the weekend, I am filled with hope when it comes to teenagers today. They are passionate and their desire is to live for Jesus everyday of their lives. Do they make mistakes? Sure, but so do I. But, they are hungry - hungry for the presence of God, and hungry to show the love of Jesus to a hurting world.

Overall, it was a great weekend. Here are some pictures from the weekend...
