Don't mess with me...

Oh yeah, one more thing about the retreat. During the first session I invited a martial arts demonstration team to come and break some bricks and boards, thus showing the middle school kids what a collision looks like. The demonstration was awesome. One guy broke 10 bricks with the flick of his wrist. It was remarkable.

At that point I thought the demonstration was done so I got up to speak. As I started to speak the martial arts teacher grabbed the microphone and asked the crowd if they wanted to see me break a brick. What? Me break a brick? No way. I was terrified, but there was no way I was going to chicken out. They set up a brick for me to break, and instructed me on how to break it. The instructor said "Hit with bottom of fist! You hit with knuckles. Knuckles gone! Hit with fist!" I got really low, put my fist behind my head, and struck the brick. The next thing I new, the brick was snapped in half.

I broke a brick. I didn't think I could do it, but I did, and NO the brick was not previously cut.
