Fire hose...

Today I felt like I had put my mouth on a fire hose and someone turned it on full blast. Let me explain. Today I attended a conference at Mars Hill Church in Grand Rapids, MI with the hopes of understanding the church a little bit better. To be honest, this is my quest for 2007. I want to figure out why the church exists? Why do people go to church? Why do people give money to the church? What's the goal of the church? These are pretty serious questions for someone who has spent the past 10 years working in the church.

So, my first step on this quest to understand the church was to attend the Isn't She Beautiful Conference at Mars. Today was the first day, and all I can say is that it was excellent! I heard so much good stuff. (water blasting out of the fire hose) Had some fantastic conversation about the church. (More water!) Needless to say my brain is mush, but a good kind of mush. I will share what I learned later after I have had time to think through and process what I have heard.

Today was a good day. Probably one of the best "church" days I've had in a long time. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I can suck on the fire hose again.
