Off to a good start...
One of my goals for 2007 was to spend more time reading. Turn the TV off a little more, and crack open a book. Now, for those of you who know my reading habits you know I have a tendency to start a book, but rarely finish it. Often I will have 2-3 books that I have started, but rarely will I finish them, or it will take me months to finish them.
This year I wanted things to change. So I simply made a goal to read more. Not a goal to read one book a month, just a goal to read more.
Well, as we wrap up January 2007 I can say I’m off to a good start. I started and completed 2 books during the month of January. I read two great books.
• The Simple Church by Thom Rainer & Eric Geiger. This fantastic book talked about the need for churches to simplify and focus their energy on doing a few things and doing them well. This book really challenged me and the staff at the Vineyard.
• Soul Cravings by Erwin McManus. A good book that got a little long towards the end, but I plowed through it.
So, there they are, the two books of January 2007, and I’ve already started my third – Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne.

What's Irresistable Revolution about? The cover has my interests peaked.
