On the road again...

Last Saturday, December 30, I went for a five-mile run. About 2 miles into the run I was feeling like junk so I decided to cut the run short and only go four miles. The last two miles were even more of a struggle. I would run for a while then walk. I felt horrible. At first I thought it was because I had been in the gym for the past month doing a different workout, but then I remembered all the junk I had been eating over Christmas and the week between Christmas and New Years. My horrible run was a direct result of the junk I had been eating. Well, since last Saturday things have gotten better. Here has been my workout schedule this week…

• Tuesday – 4 miles (8:00/mile pace)
• Wednesday – 3 miles
• Thursday – 3.5 miles plus 15 minutes on the bike
• Friday – 4 miles (Under 8:00/mile pace)

Not bad for my first week back running. Since last Saturday I’ve run 18.5 miles. There are many more miles to go until the 5/3 river bank run, but so far things are off to a decent start.
