Tough Night...

You can take out Mallory in the pictures below and put in Elliana and then you will have a picture of what our night was last night. Wow, what a night.

Last night we went to a friend’s house for dinner. The plan after dinner was to talk and watch some basketball games while the kids slept. But we barely made it past dinner. During dinner, Elliana was complaining about her stomach hurting so we took her upstairs to talk with her and get her ready for bed. As I was holding her she threw up all over my shirt and down my leg. That was our sign – our night was finished and we were heading home. We packed up our things, barely being able to eat dinner, and took the girls home and put them to bed. We thought they would sleep all night, but around midnight, Elliana, threw up again – this time in her bed. We cleaned up the mess, and thought she was done. Oh no… about three in the morning she did it again. Currently it’s 5:45 in the morning, and I’m wondering how long it will be before she throws up again. Poor girl, she must have that virus that is going around, and it seems like every little kid has it.

One final note – my wife is the best. Over the past 5 days she has been taking care of sick kids, and doing it all with a smile. She has been pooped on and puked on, but has never complained. She has spent hours holding our daughters, getting them whatever they need, and last night she was up with Elliana every time she got sick. She is a fantastic mom and an awesome wife.

I was up with her while she was throwing up at 3a.m. because you poked me and said, "GET UP QUICK! SHE'S AT IT AGAIN." Then you rolled over and went back to sleep. I started slamming things and whipping the washing machine open, and all the while...ZZZ's from you! The reason you think I've had such a good attitude, is because you were sleeping too soundly to hear my complaints. I guess last night is payback for all those nights you got up with her for the midnight feedings I was too tired for!

You did not have a bad attitude. You were just a little out of it, but once you were awake you took care of your daughter like the fantastic mom that you are.
