Tiring day...

What a day. I'm finally sitting down after a day filled with a lot of activity. All of it was good, but the day was quite full.

  • I went for a 5 mile run early this morning. It was a great run, and reminded me that I need to be active on a more regular basis.
  • I helped my wife paint two chairs, 4 corbels (I think that is how you spell it - they are the things shelves hang on), and polyurethaned some trim and shelves.
  • I messed up the shelves I polyurethaned. I'm not the best at that.
  • Attended two open houses for three people. Alysse, Caroline, and Gwen. Three great young women who are now headed off to the great unknown world of college. Don't worry girls, its not all that unknown -- it's really a lot of fun.
  • Came home and realized that we needed more paint stuff in order to make progress on our little project. So, we went to Lowe's.
  • Painted the same chairs, trim, shelves, and corbels a second time.
  • Cleaned up all the fun toys I was using during the little paint project. I used a lot of turpentine while cleaning up. I don't think turpentine is all that green of a product.
  • Oh - I almost forgot - I fertilized my yard as well. I can't wait for my yard to become green again.
However, the thing that had the biggest impact on me today was the two messages I listened to while running and painting. I listened to two messages by Perry Noble. They were given during this year's Unleash conference at Newspring Church. Simply put, the two messages rocked and I'm completely messed up by them. I'll share more about them in the future. If you want to listen to the messages you can download them here. The two messages are a little long but definitely worth your time. My prayer is that God will mess you up like he messed me up.

I haven't run, exercised, exerted myself since the 5/3rd race - I suck!

messed up by God is a totally good thing and something I am seeking daily. Thanks for the message links.
