How am I communicating?

I read this today on Tim Steven's blog...

"how many times do we say stuff, but the community (or people) can't hear us. And it's not because of what we are saying... it is because of how we are saying it."
I've felt like this lately - I say things, things that are important to me, but I don't feel people are hearing me. Perhaps, it's how I'm saying things. Now, I know I have a tendency to be really hard on myself - something I have to work on - but reading this challenged me to evaluate how I communicate, what I say, and how I say it.

If you want to see where Tim got this thought from, watch the short video below. It's only 4 minutes long.
