Sunday Night (Actually Monday Morning) Reflections...
Some random thoughts/reflections I have over the past few days...
- I was so nervous watching the Chargers on Saturday night. My heart was beating fast. I'm so excited they won, and I actually can't believe they won. Feel a little bad for Peyton Manning and the Colts though - it stinks someone has to lose in a game like that. Looking forward to the Chargers taking on the Steelers. It will be another nervous night and another close game.
- I loved singing "Days of Elijah" yesterday in church. I thought it was a perfect song to sing as we begin the new year. I was moved by these words in the 1st verse - "And though these are days of great trials of famine and darkness and sword, still we are the voice in the desert crying, prepare ye the way of the Lord!" Great reminder for the times we live in.
- It was cool to see the flags during that song. I got hit in the head by one flag, but it was ok. My friend Steve was the one who hit me. I laughed.
- Felt good about the message yesterday. I changed up my routine a little bit and I believe it helped me with the message. Often when I speak, I battle against insecurity and fear, but yesterday I prayed some very specific prayers against these issues and I believe God answered them.
- I was surprised by people's reaction when I talked about Meijer being pronounced "Meijer" and not "Meijers." There is no "s" in Meijer, so don't add it!
- My daughters are the ones who are teaching me the most about myself and about God. I love learning from them.
- I was so excited for a young man who took a huge step over the past few weeks. He got rid of the internet in his house, because it was too great of a temptation. I love that.
- Been really challenged by the question Jesus asks, "Who do you say I am?" It's a question all of us have to answer. What's your answer?
- Still can't believe the Chargers won!
- Looking forward to Wednesday night and hanging out with the teenagers again. Going to miss Joe though. It will be our first night without him.
- Ceci and I need to get back on the debt reduction train. We haven't been doing too bad lately, but we need to get more focused on this.
- Speaking of Ceci and I, we are finally getting plugged in to a small group. We are excited about this, and know it's something we need to do.

Hey Dave,
I thought the message was great yesterday! Our small group spent the first 30 minutes journaling our answers to the 3 questions you posed during the sermon. We had a great discussion afterwards. Thanks!!
Thanks Missy. Awesome to hear your small group had a great discussion!
