Sunday Night Reflections...

  • My wife's couch is almost finished. She is busy recovering a couch that she found on the side of the road. It's going to be awesome when it's completed. She's been working on it a ton, like every night, and I can't wait to take a long nap on it.
  • Today, we had a blast at church. The worship team went a little longer, plus they did a couple songs at the end of the service. It was great. I was able to share a little bit today, but for me the highlight of the morning was hearing how God moved in people's lives in 2007. I think we could have sat there for hours listening to stories, but unfortunately I had to cut it off after a while, which was too bad. Here were some of the stories that were shared...
    • A couple got pregnant after years of trying. They adopted a child a year ago, and then a couple months later, surprise, they were pregnant.
    • After years of trying to purchase a house, two couples finally did so this year.
    • One single mom was blown away by the kindness of her neighbor. She had a ton of leaves on her lawn, and when she came home her neighbor had raked all of them for her. She couldn't believe it! And before this happened, she thought her neighbors hated her. All I can say is... her neighbors are awesome. They showed her the love of Jesus in a real way.
    • One woman has been free of headaches for a couple of months after spending years with headaches.
    • Another woman shared that she was pregnant after suffering a miscarriage this year.
    • I overheard a man share about how God got him through this year after he lost his wife of 53 years.
  • It's impossible to take a nap when your kids are awake. I tried this afternoon and it didn't work.
  • The Chargers are in the playoffs as the 3rd seed. In a month I hope I'm watching them in the Super Bowl, but in order to make it that far the Patriots have to lose and I don't know if that will happen.
  • I can't believe I leave for Africa in a month. So much to do, and so little time.
  • I'm still praying about the other opportunity that I have in Africa.
  • I'm looking forward to 2008. I know God is going to stretch me in ways I've never been stretched.
  • Tomorrow night we have no plans for New Year's Eve. So, I think we are going to have a High School Musical party. We're going to pop some popcorn and watch both high school musical movies. Should be fun. We'll see how long the girls make it.
  • I'm looking forward to this week. It's going to be a relaxing week, so I will have time to pray and think about 2008.
