Time...
Lately, I've been struggling with how I manage my time. I know a lot of people complain about not having enough time, but I don't want to do that. Instead, I need to figure out how to manage my time. That's what I've been struggling with lately. Here's my problem...
I love meeting with people. I enjoy talking with them, listening to what is going on in their life, sharing thoughts on life, etc. This is part of my job that I really enjoy. However, I also need time to sit and think about gatherings that we will have, and what I need to say during those. In addition I need to think about where God wants the church and youth ministry to go. So, here's my dilemma. Lately, my schedule has been filled with opportunities to meet with people, but there has been little time for me to sit, think, plan, and pray about upcoming gatherings and the direction of the church.
I want to do both, but I'm wondering how others do it. I don't want to say no to people, but I still need that time to plan. So, I'm asking for some help from some of you out there -- How do you organize your time? Do you schedule a day just for meetings, so that is your only focus for that day? Are other days then spent alone thinking and planning for upcoming events? What works for you? Is it okay to say no to people, or tell them you can meet with them in a week? Any advice would be extremely helpful?

That's a tough question I think we all need help managing time. I am not a youth pastor, but I love people and I know that kids have there share of hard ache and there just looking for someone to talk to who will listen and help them out. I myself think that is more important then meetings, but I know you have to plan for your youth group as well, so try to plan your meetings on a certain day, but if something comes up where a teen needs you be there for them and just know God will handle the rest. He never gives us more then we can handle, right?
i have the answer for you. i can't tell you on the blog though. you just need to schedule in some time to call me - then i'll tell you.
