Saving Money...
For some time Ceci and I have known that we need to look for ways to save money, especially in the area of food. Over the past few months, we have been hearing of a great way to save money on your groceries. It's a site called savings angel. The idea is simple - get coupons from the Sunday paper, and then go to this website to hear of all the deals. Then you combine the deals with the coupons that are in the paper and you save big time. Well last week we began using savings angel and on Friday I saved $40! I couldn't believe it. I got Windex for $.25, and a bunch of other deals. It was a lot of fun. If you are not a savings angel member, check out the website. It cost $20 a month I believe, but you can definitely save more than that in a month.
(By the way, if you sign up on savings angel let me know. I'll give you a code to sign up under.)
Also, today I read this article on lifehaker. If you save your coupons for a month you can save a lot of money...
The Simple Dollar finance blog has a tip that might just make a coupon convert out of those who don't think it's worth the time and effort before. Simply take the coupon section out of a Sunday newspaper and stash it away for four weeks. Then:
At that point, take the wad of coupons to the store and just look at the shelves. Magically, most of those coupons you have will sync up very well with stuff that's already on sale on the shelves.
There are likely a few stores that prohibit using coupons with sale items, but this method could give you some serious savings at the grocery store.
