The need for speed
I run to relax. To clear my mind. To think about life. Seldom do I run to run fast. Even though running is excercise, for me it is more of an excercise of the mind. Consequently, when I run I don't run that fast. I want that to change. I want to see if I can improve my speed. Run faster miles. So this morning I went for a 3 mile run. Usually I would have been happy with finishing 3 miles in 24 minutes, an 8 minute/mile pace. But today I finished 3 miles in 23:08. I know I'm not setting the trails on fire, but it's a move in the right direction. And after all, isn't that all we can ask for - a move in the right direction? That's all for now. Until next time...
