Relaxing...

Things have been stressful and busy lately. It hasn’t been just one thing either. Preaching last week, final “mid-week” gathering, Ceci’s work, kid’s schedule – all of these things have added to the busyness of life. All of this has led me to ask the question, “Will life ever slow down?” Honestly, I’m starting to think life never will. With two kids, I think my life is just starting to enter the busy phase.

However, in the midst of the busyness, I have realized I need to find time to relax. I need to find time where “time stands still” for a while. Yesterday was one of those days. At about 1:00pm yesterday, I closed the door of my office, headed out to the golf course, and spent the rest of the day chasing a little white ball around – sometimes I found the ball, sometimes I didn’t. Did I shoot a good score? Who cares. The point of the day was to relax, and that is what I did. The beauty of it all was that for a while “time stood still.” The 18 holes didn’t just fly by. And the more I golfed, the more relaxed I became.

So, will life ever slow down? I don’t know, and right now I don’t think so. But during the busy pace of life, I have found that it is good, no, it is necessary, to find times to relax and rejuvenate, and yesterday was one of those days.

Thanks Bruce for a great day of golf. I needed it.

Well I am suppose to go fishing next Sunday afternoon. Being out on the big pond is a great way to get some relax time in.
