Words I needed to hear...
The past six months have been hard. I won't go into detail here about why, but all I will say is life has been hard. There have been times when I've wondered, "God what are you doing? Why am I in the middle of this situation? Why do I have to go through this junk when all I wanted to do was serve you and show people how much you love them! Why do I feel so stuck? God, where are in the midst of this crap!"
Tonight as I sat down with these feelings running through my head, I came across words that I needed to hear and experience. Here are those words I read tonight AND experienced!
Tonight as I sat down with these feelings running through my head, I came across words that I needed to hear and experience. Here are those words I read tonight AND experienced!
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea
though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come and see the works of the LORD,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
he burns the shields with fire.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
he burns the shields with fire.
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 46
I needed to hear those words tonight. More importantly, I needed to experience them tonight. I needed to know that God is my strength and refuge, that God is with me, and that he is my fortress. Tonight I felt that.
