Love this...

I love what Granger Community Church did this past Sunday. They invited people to text questions they had. These questions would appear on the screen, and the pastor would answer them. What a great idea. I love the pastor/crowd interaction part of this. You can read about it here. I would love to do something like this.

As part of your "blog crowd" I'm going to text you a question and I'm hoping you can address it on your blog! :)

I think this idea is incredibly cool. The first time I saw something even remotely close to this was at the U2 Vertigo concert, where they had people text in their names to sign onto the ONE Campaign, and they scrolled across the screens. Very impressive (especially when I saw my name).

A few years back I had the opportunity to head down to Orlando to hear Erwin McManus speak at Discovery Church. Very small, intimate conference...and basically all he did for the entire time was answer questions from the crowd. I was really impressed at his ability to roll with the punches and improvise. The attendees walked away with a much more personal and unique experience, rather than hearing a canned package.

After that conference, I tried to build in more of these Q/A times into the HS ministry I was leading, and by and large it was successful. It kept me on my toes, and allowed me the opportunity to speak more out of what God was doing in my heart/gut/experience, which in turn was much more real and interesting to the students.

I think it would be sweet on a church-wide level. Checked out the Jarbyco software, too, and it seems pretty impressive.

Go make it happen!
