The Promise...

Thursday night I took Elliana and her friend, Makenna, to see The Promise. Yes, it was me and the two girls. The girls got all dressed up in their dresses, and they were all excited to go to see the ballerina's dance. We walked in and they immediately saw the snack bar. They asked if they could have some candy, and I quickly said "no." Just imagine, two 5 year olds, hyped up on sugar, trying to sit still and watch a Christmas Ballet show. I told them if they were good, then I would buy them some candy at the intermission, which I did. We found our seats, and settled in to watch the show. Personally, I don't know what was more fun -- watching the show or watching the girls sit in their seats and copy all the moves that were being performed on stage. Towards the end of the night, both girls were tired, and it showed. They sat back in their seats and struggled to stay awake, but they did. After the show the girls had a wonderful time talking with all the dancers, and seeing their outfits up close.

It was a great night spending time with my daughter, and her friend Makenna. Both of them are wonderful girls and I always have a ton of fun hanging out with them. We laughed a lot, sang a lot... it was great. Someday, Elliana will be embarrassed by what I do, but right now when I do some things she laughs and her friends laugh too.

I also saw my friend, Matt, there with his daughter. They were on a date night too. It sounds like he and his daughter had a great time!

By the way, the Promise is a Christmas program that is put on my Turning Pointe School of Dance. It was a wonderful show, and it really got me in the Christmas mood.
